Introducing the highly anticipated Acura Integra Type S with exciting pricing details! Starting at $51,995, including destination and handling charges, this luxury-themed sport sedan is set to make a statement in the automotive world. Compared to its mechanically related sibling, the 2023 Honda Civic Type R, the Integra Type S carries a price premium of $7,105. However, given the strong demand and limited production of this high-performance model, dealers are likely to add their own markup, as we've seen with the top-tier Civic.
While the Integra Type S shares its mechanical components with the Civic Type R, there are notable upgrades that justify the price difference. The Acura retains features such as the limited-slip front differential, Brembo front brakes, adaptive dampers, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires. Additionally, the Integra enjoys a 5-horsepower boost to a total of 320 hp.
Beyond the performance enhancements, the Type S boasts exclusive features, including heated front seats, a head-up display, a leather-and-microsuede combination upholstery (unlike the microsuede-only option in the Civic), and a premium 16-speaker ELS audio system (compared to the Type R's 12-speaker Bose unit). The driver's seat offers additional adjustments, and both front seats feature height-adjustable headrests, a departure from the fixed headrests in the more aggressive Civic Type R sport seats.
For those interested in securing one of the first 200 production units, reservations can be made on May 11 at 10 a.m. Pacific time by visiting https://www.acura.com/integra. The Integra Type S is scheduled to arrive at dealerships next month.
Notably, the EPA has provided official fuel economy estimates, rating the 2024 Acura Integra Type R at 24 mpg combined (21 city/28 highway).
